A ModeraXL Moment with...
David A. Kekich
Investor, ModeraXL
It's called "Happy Valley." If you're in any way dealing with detox, addiction, or relapse, "Happy Valley" sounds like a great place to be. So, where's the (Book Travel Now) button, right?
To those who know it, there's something quite special about "Happy Valley." To the rest of the world, a trip there is not on anyone's "Bucket List" of things to do before you die.
On the surface, "Happy Valley" is just a sleepy town in Central Pennsylvania whose official name is State College. It's the home of Penn State University. Who knows what's in the water that rolls down to the campus from nearby Mount Nittany? Perhaps it's an underground "Fountain of Youth."
Legendary football coach, Joe Paterno has been leading the Nittany Lions to success longer than many football fans today have been alive. But ol "Joe Pa" is working on his own legacy and lifespan. More importantly for you is Penn State alumni member, David A. Kekich. He is the one building a legacy by increasing your lifespan. Wait until you see what this has to do with you.
Why? You're going to want answers to that question when it comes to Mr. Kekich and ModeraXL. Why would he be one of the major investors behind development of the product? Why? If he isn't an addict or doesn't have a loved one who's addicted, then why? If he doesn't need the money because he's already a very wealthy investment expert, why?
Dave Kekich is behind ModeraXL for three good reasons:
- He knows ModeraXL works as "A Vital Step in Recovery."
- He knows the ModeraXL Team and believes in the people as much as the product.
- He knows if he helps with the disease of addiction, it supports his mission to reverse the aging process, the root cause of most deadly diseases.
Now you've got answers. But you're back to, "Why?" Why does Dave Kekich care about the aging process? Why does he care about helping you with your cravings for addictive substances? If he's not some "quack" (and he isn't), why? Why do you care about anything? Because there's a feeling of connection.
Would you confine yourself to a wheelchair if it freed you from the death grip of addiction? Or, would you take on a deadly addiction if it gave you back the freedom and ability to walk?
Interesting food for thought, isn't it? Now you get a sense of the story here, don't you? Now you see there's an extraordinary path of an extraordinary human being helping to bring you the solution to the addiction that has taken control of your life.
Pain is pain. Challenges are challenges. Lessons learned are lessons learned. In the end, love is love, and so is love of life.
Of course, you and your situation are unique. But still, Dave Kekich knows you. He knows your physical and emotional pain. He knows your challenges. He knows you can overcome cravings for drugs, alcohol, smoking, or food. He knows you can get back to loving yourself again. And he knows you can love life no matter what baggage goes along with you on your new journey.
Dave Kekich is living proof you can triumph over tragedy. You can rise above addictive substances. You can be happy again. Or, perhaps you can be really happy for the first time in your life. Read the unique story of Dave Kekich and feel the connection he feels with you.
"More than 30 years ago, I was a young entrepreneur who felt like he was on top of the world. One person could say he had built the biggest master general life insurance agency in the United States. That one person was me.
Millions of dollars were headed my way. I was young, happy, and healthy. Really, I loved being in great shape and worked hard at it. I was fairly athletic, a dedicated weightlifter, long distance runner, and an avid golfer. I popped vitamins every day. If it weren't for enjoying my share of drinks, you could have called me a health fanatic.
Besides money, I enjoyed plenty of other riches. I had a girlfriend with movie star looks, a brand new Mercedes convertible, and a luxury ocean front home. You might be thinking I had it made.
But in one moment, my life as I knew it and loved it was gone.
Pop! I could hear it. I could feel it. As usual, I was at the gym working out. In a strange but sudden twist of fate something in my body popped. The physical pain was excruciating. In what felt like the mere blink of an eye, I was on my back staring at the ceiling. Only I wasn't in the gym anymore.
I was in a hospital room. It was one day later, and time for the excruciating emotional pain. I was connected to all kinds of machines and monitors. Even more noticeable to me was being unable to move or feel anything below my chest. I was paralyzed. That freak spinal cord injury has kept me confined to a wheelchair ever since. So, you see, I really do know your pain. I do know your challenges.
As you probably guessed, I lost much more than my ability to walk. I felt like my whole future walked out on me. Meaningless was my Mercedes. It was bye bye to my business, and goodbye to my girlfriend. My ocean front home got swept away from me, too. Adding emotional insult to physical injury, worst of all was I lost my positive attitude.
While I don't know what it's like to suddenly find yourself lost in cravings and addiction, you probably don't know what it's like to suddenly find yourself -- a hopeless paraplegic.
I can tell you for a long time being with me was no day at the beach. I was irritable, angry, and depressed. Yes, I was even suicidal. After my accident happened, there was many times I almost 'threw in the towel.'
Somehow, as strangely as it happened, many blessings eventually came from my paralysis. Sure, I was served a nice big piece of 'Humble Pie.' But I needed a dose of humility. The greatest gift I've received is my injury has enabled me to be a much stronger person emotionally.
I made a commitment to myself to do two things. I've done both of them. One, I needed to make myself financially secure again. I did this by entering a new business to me... venture capital. And I achieved success by starting this line of work out of my bedroom.
Second, I made a lifelong commitment to being part of the solution for conquering the diseases of ‘old age'. Again, you're back to the question of ‘Why?' Well, initially I set out on a mission to raise funding for research on curing spinal cord injuries. But I discovered there were only about 150,000 other Americans like me suffering from a spinal cord injury.
I began to study life extension back in my 20's. I'm also an investor, so to a certain extent I have to be a ‘numbers guy'. This helped me realize 300 million people are aging. I also recognized the possibility I might be very old before I could ever walk again. So, what did I do?
I reached out to the world's most renowned scientists on aging. I wanted their knowledge and guidance. I offered passion, financial resources, and unique insight. I convinced them that by working together we could extend or even save lives of the nearly 40 million people a year who ‘prematurely' die every year from aging related causes.
What was so amazing to me was I gave this priority over my long-term goal of walking. Of course, I want to live long enough to cure my paralysis. I want to walk and run again. I want to recapture some of the lost youth taken by my spinal cord injury. I want to be free from my wheelchair like you want to be free from addiction.
Somehow, I now have an even bigger and more important goal... I am dedicated to creating a dramatic increase in the length of time a person can live a normal and healthy life. One piece of this means we must conquer the disease of addiction. I do believe the science of ModeraXL offers 'A Vital Step in Recovery.'
In 2005, Dave Kekich got a call from his friend, Joe Sugarman. He was asked to do some due diligence as a venture capitalist on the work of a scientist, Keith Skinner. Dave says they were impressed with Keith's work on stem cell extracts and peptides, but mostly with his innovative genius. The two friends agreed to co-invest in the scientific research. Eventually, the combined forces of this group led to the addiction treatment breakthrough that is the science of today's ModeraXL.
"I knew very little about addiction until this product," says Dave. "Now I think the whole world should know about it. Most everybody has addicted friends. I have many friends who are doctors, and not one person I've presented to has been neutral about ModeraXL. Everyone has been blown away.
In my personal life, I've done an about face on my reaction to addicts. I thought they were weak, or had no self-control. Now I realize by drinking in my younger years, I could have been doing the same thing. The only difference is the addicted person's biochemistry was different than mine.
My heart truly goes out to these people. I now know what addiction does to your brain. My whole life today is about life extension. I really am in tune to the effects of sugar intake. Then there's tobacco addiction. I know how much it shortens your life and what it does to your cells. Addictions to food, smoking, and sugar, are the ones that really hit the spot with me.
I've spent most of my life getting the aging puzzle solved and reversed. The other way I can help keep people alive is by helping them to improve their lifestyle. People doing bad habits like drugs, alcohol, smoking and overeating need to know how many years of youth and vitality it costs them.
It's the mission of my life to save these lives, to make a difference between life and death. ModeraXL is not a product for having fun and making money. This is life and death. It really is.
When you put all these pieces together as I've been doing all these years, solving one piece of the life puzzle, developing ModeraXL to help people with cravings and addiction really makes a difference.
Will I realize my dreams? I don't know. I hope so. I hope you do, too. One thing I do believe is we all have a fighting chance to reap the rewards of ‘miracles' in our lives."
